- Writes letter to Union Minister of Agriculture Tomar and CM Gehlot
- Raises demand for sprinkling of pesticides in agricultural fields
Jaipur, 11 May: Rajsamand MP, Diya Kumari, today said that the locusts are playing havoc in the agricultural fields and destroying the crops. She urged both the Union and the State Governments to provide compensation to the affected farmers and also sprinkle pesticides to do away with the menace. In letters written today to Union Minister of Agriculture, Narendra Singh Tomar and Rajasthan Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot, Diya Kumari informed that many districts of western Rajasthan are facing the locust menace and the agricultural crops have been destroyed.
The crops have also been destroyed because of hailstorms and unexpected rains earlier, she said. She urged to make an action plan for handling the locust menace.
