PENALTY ON ELECTRICITY BILLS WILL BURDEN THE CONSUMERS
Diya Kumari Gives Letter to the State Energy Minister, Dr. BD Kalla
Jaipur, 23 May: Rajsamand MP Diya Kumari met the Rajasthan Energy Minister Dr. BD Kalla today. She gave a letter stating that during this time of corona pandemic, the decision of the Rajasthan Government to combine the electricity bills of three months and impose penalty as well has burdened the consumers who are already going through an economic crisis.
Diya Kumari further said that it will be unfair to collect the interest and penalty on the deferred bills of March, April and May from the common people. She requested the Rajasthan Government to withdraw the order with immediate effect and waive 3 months electricity and water bills of consumers and provide relief to the public.
It is to be noted that the Rajasthan Government has issued an order to the electricity consumers to deposit interest and penalty for the bills of March, April and May simultaneously.
